Nucor suspends operations after fatality

CHICAGO Nucor Corp. suspended operations Monday at its special-bar quality mill in Memphis, Tenn., following a fatal accident, and company officials could not be reached Wednesday for comment on whether operations at the plant had resumed.
Charlotte, N.C.-based Nucor said Tuesday it was working with authorities in investigating the death of Jerry Buford, 43, who was operating mobile equipment in an inventory yard at the facility (AMM, May 25).....
