Erie Coke reaches $300,000 deal with EPA

PITTSBURGH — Erie Coke Corp. and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency have reached a tentative agreement that will allow the company to maintain operations.

The foundry cokemaker has agreed to pay $300,000 in relief and penalties, as well as invest money into the facility to help to gain compliance, according to the consent agreement filed in federal District Court in Pennsylvania.....
