CHICAGO William S. Dietrich II, a retired steel industry executive who recently gave record endowments to two major universities, has died following a battle with cancer. He was 73.
Dietrich owned Dietrich Industries Inc., a producer of metal framing for construction, until he sold it to Worthington Industries Inc., Columbus, Ohio, in 1996. He remained a member of Worthingtons board of directors until 2008.....
