Eaton moves forward with expansion plans

CHICAGO — Eaton Steel Bar Co. is moving forward with an expansion plan that will include redeveloping a brownfield industrial property in Oak Park, Mich., and building a 175,000-square-foot warehouse on the site.

The redeveloped site will expand the special bar quality processor and distributor’s steel bar saw-cutting operations, but most of the space will be for the storage of contract customers’ orders. Groundbreaking is expected by the end of October, with the facility due to start up in the first quarter of 2012, Craig Cipa, Eaton’s inside sales manager, told AMM.....
