Titanium scrap tags slide 12.3% in auction

LOS ANGELES A benchmark titanium scrap auction price has tumbled, reinforcing reports of a fall in the market.
Monico Alloys Inc., Compton, Calif., entered the high bid of $5.20 per pound for about 41,400 pounds of titanium 6 aluminum/4 vanadium bulk scrap auctioned by Boeing Co., according to market sources.
Thats down 12.3 percent from the last reported winning bid at a Boeing auction more than a month ago, which came in at $5.93 per pound for material generated at the aircraft makers Seattle-area facilities. That bid was also submitted by Monico.....
