CHICAGO Economic activity in the manufacturing sector continued to expand in October, albeit weakly, according to the Institute for Supply Managements latest manufacturing survey, which put the purchasing managers index (PMI) at 50.8 for October, down 0.8 percentage points from 51.6 in September but still above the 12-month low of 50.6 in August. ....
