Higher shipments boost Timet 3d-qtr. earnings

LOS ANGELES — Increased shipments of both melted and mill products, along with higher prices for the former, helped boost Titanium Metals Corp.’s earnings 19.4 percent in the third quarter.

The Dallas-based producer posted net income of $25.9 million for the three months ended Sept. 30 on sales that rose 24.8 percent from the same period last year to $262.5 million. ....
