PITTSBURGH Walter Energy Inc.s quarterly earnings slipped amid lower volumes from its recently acquired Canadian operations, with metallurgical coal sales prices forecast to fall in the fourth quarter after posting third-quarter gains.
The Birmingham, Ala.-based metallurgical coal and coke producer and exporter posted a 44-percent drop in third-quarter net income to $76.2 million despite sales that rose 48.6 percent to $690.1 million.....
