Caterpillar earmarks $790M for global growth

CHICAGO — Caterpillar Inc. has announced plans to invest $790 million in three expansion projects.

The Peoria, Ill.-based heavy equipment builder will spend $340 million to retool for the production of large track-type tractors in East Peoria, Ill.; $300 million to increase capacity for large mining trucks produced in Decatur, Ill.; and....
