Chrysler sets $500M Toledo plant upgrade

CHICAGO Chrysler Group LLC will invest $1.7 billion to support the development and production of the next-generation Jeep sport utility vehicle in 2013, including $500 million to upgrade its Toledo, Ohio, assembly complex.
The company will also add a second shift of production with about 1,100 jobs, bringing total employment at the complex to more than 2,800, the Auburn Hills, Mich.-based automaker said Wednesday.....
