Aluminum service centers continue to destock

NEW YORK — Market sources believe that U.S. service centers will continue to destock aluminum next year, particularly if the price of aluminum remains low or decreases.

"I think shipments will hold up next year, and you’ll see inventory levels get lower," a source at one large distributor told AMM. "Service centers are absolutely watching inventory, no doubt about it. And if they have an opportunity to get it tighter, they will."

"There is a mindset of driving inventories as low as possible," another service center source said. ....
