NEW YORK A price standoff in the ferrous scrap export market this week has market participants wondering if this months fight for higher prices will once again result in a drop in shipping volumes.
There was a bitter price war between U.S. exporters and offshore consumers in September (AMM, Sept. 19 and 28). And it took a toll on export volumes for that month, based on the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department.....
