NEW YORK — House Republicans are hoping that growing the nation’s energy production will pay for new construction and maintenance of the nation’s highways and bridges.
House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) has proposed legislation—the American Energy and Infrastructure Jobs Act—that would eliminate existing barriers to domestic energy production and use revenue it generates to repair roads and bridges (AMM, Nov. 18).....
