NEW YORK Imperial Alloys Corp. is hoping that its recent acquisition of Teck Metals Ltd.s galvanizing unit brings the company closer to its goal of being a full-service metals business, executives told AMM.
The Chicago-based company bought the galvanizing technology sales division of Teck Metals at the beginning of November. Since 2009, Imperial also has added two aluminum smelters and a brokerage business, hoping that diversification and integration will help boost margins and mitigate fluctuating metal prices.....
