W. Coast ports cautious of Occupy shutdown

NEW YORK — Rumors of port shutdowns along the West Coast by Occupy protesters may pose a threat to market players who depend on those ports to ship metal, but sources say protesters won’t have full steam to accomplish the task ahead without key support from labor unions.

Last week, the Occupy movement announced a united West Coast port shutdown on Dec. 12 to show solidarity for the middle-class phenomenon that has sparked activity across the nation.....
