Copper scrap exports take step back

NEW YORK — Copper scrap exports lost steam in September as most Asian nations, including China, pared their buying from the previous month.

Exports for the month totaled 114,491 short tons, down 12.2 percent from August, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department. However, the tally is still up 13.6 percent from the 100,751 tons shipped in September 2010.....
