UK secondary aluminium prices flat as year-end business slows

UK secondary aluminium prices remained flat on Wednesday November 30 as business slowed ahead of the year-end and producers began discussing contract business for 2012.
LM24 pressure diecasting ingot continued to trade at £1,500-1,550 ($2,334-2,411) per tonne, while LM6/LM25 gravity diecasting ingot stayed at £1,790-1,850.
“There are three-and-a-bit weeks till Christmas and some are on short time already,” a producer said. “We’ll be shutting for the last fortnight and we won’t reopen at full capacity in January.” ....
