Early signs show shredded scrap up $25/T

PITTSBURGH — The December scrap dance has begun, with at least one major shredder said to be selling obsolete material $25 a gross ton higher this month, suggesting that recyclers selling into the domestic market may enjoy higher tags themselves when they come in to price.
While no deals have been confirmed for prime grades, including busheling and bundles, those concluded for shredded are up as much as $25 per gross ton, sources said.
An Ohio mill and a Pennsylvania mill have purchased 20,000 gross tons of material at $445 per ton, a $25 improvement from last month. A New York mill has secured 12,000 gross tons at a $17 increase, according to an upstate New York shredder that supplied the material in all these transactions.....
