China steel demand growth to slow in ‘12, processor says

NEW YORK — Steel processor China Precision Steel Inc. expects somewhat slower growth in the Chinese steel sector next year due to high inventories and the government’s efforts to rein in inflation, a top company executive told AMM Thursday.

"Demand is still there, but it will be a little bit slower until inventories are at a reasonable level," chief financial officer Leada Li said.....
