Cobalt prices edge up as market fights over direction

Cobalt metal prices edged up again on December 9 as spot sellers shifted their sights slightly higher in a market that is fiercely contested at both ends.
Low-grade cobalt prices moved up to $13.55-14.50 per lb from $13.55-14.25 while high-grade cobalt prices rose to $14.20-15 per lb from $14-15.
“On spot business, we are seeing higher numbers. We don’t seem to have that much competition,” one large supplier said, having sold low-grade at $14.35 per lb and at $14.50 per....
