PITTSBURGH A Houston steel broker is buying a scrapyard as part of its strategy to become a full-service metals recycler.
Proler Steel International has signed a letter of intent to purchase Walco Recycling Services LLC for an undisclosed sum. Proler will begin operations at the facility immediately, although the deal isnt expected to be completed until February.
The alliance will provide Proler more flexibility in its operations by adding metal processing and direct rail transportation to end-users of recycled steel products, the company said.....
