Emirates Steel to start up HRC facility in 2014

Emirates Steel is at the final feasibility and tendering stage for the construction of a hot rolled coil (HRC) facility with a focus on supplying regional markets, acting ceo Saeed Al Romaithi told metal bulletin in an interview on December 12.
The company is targeting the fourth quarter of 2014 for the completion of this, the third phase of its expansion programme.
The project involves the construction of a 1.7 million tpy meltshop and a hot strip mill with a capacity to produce 1.6 million tpy of HRC. ....
