Recycler plans shredder at proposed $32.7M site

PITTSBURGH — A public hearing will be held Tuesday in Wawayanda, N.Y., to discuss a draft environmental impact statement (EIS) from a recycler looking to install an auto shredder on a greenfield site.

Elmsford, N.Y.-based Brookfield Resource Management Inc. wants to build a $32.7-million recycling plant that would process vehicles as well as metals, plastic and glass. Facilities at the plant—which would serve southeastern New York, Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania—would....
