Base metals prices sag in LME pre-market

Base metals prices softened during pre-market trading on the London Metal Exchange on Tuesday, as traders become increasingly unwilling to take new positions ahead of the year-end.
Aluminium opened at $2,028 per tonne, basis three months, before hitting a low of $2,020 per tonne. Prices are expected to fall as low as $2,000 before 2012.
“The Chinese aren’t doing anything and the US isn’t doing anything. We’re at everyone else’s beck and call,” a category....
