NEW YORK Spot deals for aluminum ingot remain few and far between this month, with suppliers reporting premiums in a wide range for the occasional orders still hitting the books.
Midwest premiums are between 7.5 and 8.5 cents per pound vs. 8 to 8.5 cents in late November, trader and producer sources said.
"Obviously, theres been a slowdown at the end of the year. Whatever spot business weve done, its very small," one producer source said.
A domestic trader agreed, noting that the few orders he has booked in December appear to be from customers who under-ordered earlier this fall.....
