UK secondary aluminium prices down on producer competition, eurozone woes

UK secondary aluminium ingot prices were down again on Wednesday December 14, as producers looked to stay competitive in an increasingly challenging market.
LM24 pressure diecasting ingot fell to £1,460-1,500 ($2,274-2,336) per tonne from £1,490-1,550 previously.
LM6/LM25 gravity diecasting ingot moved down to £1,760-1,800 per tonne from £1,780-1,840.
“We’re under pressure because of where the euro is at the moment, and we’re not that competitive in Europe,” one producer told Metal Bulletin. ....
