Mechel's Q3 Ebitda tops $677m as cost-cutting has impact

Russian steelmaking group Mechel reported improved earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) of more than $677 million for the third quarter 2011, the steelmaker said in a statement on December 16.
Ebitda in the period was up 10.7% quarter-on-quarter from the $612 million the group reported in the second quarter of 2011, according to Mechel’s information.
