NEW YORK Four U.S. ports will be awarded $62.2 million to improve infrastructure after Department of Transportation (DOT) Secretary Ray LaHood last week announced a series of new grants as part of the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (Tiger) program.
"DOT Secretary LaHood has indicated on numerous occasions the value and importance of seaport-related infrastructure to Americas overall transportation system and our nations competitiveness in global trade," Kurt Nagle, president and chief executive officer of the American Association of Port Authorities, said in a statement.....
