Mid-West Materials adds new stretcher-leveler

CHICAGO — Mid-West Materials Inc. has added a new stretcher-leveler to its corrective leveling operations.

The stretcher-leveler, was slated for Thursday start-up within the Perry, Ohio, steel processor and distributor’s existing corrective leveling line, chief executive officer Brian Robbins said.

Corrective leveling is a value-added process that flattens steel coils for future use. "Over the last 10 to 15 years, manufacturing has become more sophisticated and the quality requirements are higher," he said.....
