Copper market trends up ahead of holiday

NEW YORK — Copper prices rose Friday on the back of positive economic headlines and short-covering, market participants told AMM.

Copper for March delivery, the most active Comex contract, closed at $3.4695 per pound Friday, up 1.6 percent from Thursday’s close and up almost 4 percent from Monday’s opening price.....
