JSPL’s wide width plate mill in Orissa to start commercial production by February

India’s Jindal Steel and Power Ltd (JSPL) is on course to start commercial production at its 1.75 million tpy plate mill at Angul in the Eastern Indian state of Orissa by end of February 2012.
“The plate mill is currently undergoing trial runs. We will be ready for commercial production of plates by end of February 2012 [and...] should be able to roll heavy plates at 200 tonnes an hour by February-end,” JSPL deputy md and ceo of steel business VR Sharma told Metal Bulletin on Wednesday.....
