US ferrous scrap exports surge in Jan.

NEW YORK The year got off to a fast start for U.S. ferrous scrap exporters, with stronger demand from Turkey, South Korea, Malaysia and India lifting January volumes 16 percent higher than a year earlier.
The surge in demand from those four countries more than offset lower Chinese demand, pushing Januarys overall export volume to 1,416,604 tonnes from 1,221,149 tonnes a year earlier, according to the latest Commerce Department figures.....
