Construction still bright spot for China

SHANGHAI, China Chinas construction and real estate sector continue to be bright spots in the economy, even if the domestic steel industry is suffering from a short-term slowdown in growth, according to Ren Xingzhou, director of the Institute of Market Economy at the Development Research Center of China.
"The government is continuing to make investments in real estate. This trend has not lowered," she told delegates at the 10th International Steel Market and Trade Conference in Shanghai hosted by the China Iron and Steel Association and the Metallurgical Council of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
