NEW YORK SA Recycling LLCs request for a conditional-use permit to convert an auto salvage yard into a recycling facility has been further delayed.
The delay came this past week after opposing groups convinced the Santa Maria (Calif.) Planning Commission that further environmental impact studies should be conducted before a final decision is reached.
"Depending on issues raised during public testimony, staff may recommend further studies prior to reagendizing the project for a future planning commission public hearing date," the commission said in a summary note released Wednesday, noting that it removed the permit request from its agenda this month to allow completion of a traffic impact analysis and review by its staff.....
