Base metals prices firm in LME pre-market on fund buying

Base metal prices picked up during pre-market trading on the London Metal Exchange on Tuesday April 3, as the Chinese absence paved the way for fund buying, a category I trader told Metal Bulletin.
Copper prices opened at $8,611.50 per tonne, basis three months, and rose as high as $8,702.75 during the session.
This compares with $8,465/66 per tonne in the officials on Monday.
