Indian ferrous scrap offer prices up as freight costs increase

Prices for ferrous scrap imported into India increased this week as sellers passed on higher container freight costs and enquiries from Indian mills picked up, market participants said.
Fewer offers have come into the market in the past few weeks due to a shortage of containers, leaving sellers uncertain about whether shipments would make it to port on time, or even at all.
This week, offer prices from Europe and the UK stood at $490-495....
