Novolipetsk leaves May HRC, CRC prices unchanged on weak markets

Russian steelmaker Novolipetsk Steel has left its prices for hot rolled coil (HRC) and cold rolled coil (CRC) produced in May unchanged from the prices for material rolled in April, due to the weak export market and cold weather in Russia, a source close to the company said on Tuesday April 3.
Steelmakers in Russia have not managed to push through month-on-month price rises of 2-3% for steel rolled in April, so they have been selling their material at March prices across most of the country.
The situation was best in the Central Region, where demand is traditionally stronger than elsewhere, they said.
