Aleris roadshow signals nearing IPO

NEW YORK — Senior executives at Aleris International Inc. are on the road this week meeting with potential investors, leading some to speculate that an initial public offering (IPO) could be just one week away.

The Beachwood, Ohio-based aluminum company hasn’t yet announced a date for its proposed offering, but information posted on www.retailroadshow.com suggests it will price on or about April 11.

Senior executives on the roadshow include chairman and chief executive officer Steven Demetriou, executive vice president and chief financial officer Sean Stack and vice president and treasurer Kelly Thomas, according to a recording of the roadshow presentation. The Aleris management team is traveling around the United States this week to meet with hedge funds, mutual funds and other institutional investors to "explain their story" and get an idea for demand, a source familiar with the offering said.....
