NEW YORK Alcoa Inc. has increased the amount of molten metal it delivers to Novelis Inc.s Oswego, N.Y., rolling mill from its Massena West smelter, sources familiar with the companies told AMM.
Massena West was forced to halt billet and cast rod production at its casthouse following a March 29 fire (AMM, March 30). The 135,000-tonne-per-year smelter was not impacted by the fire, however, and continues to produce molten metal. ....
