TORONTO — The Serbian government plans to seek a partner in the coming week to purchase Železara Smederevo (ZS), U.S. Steel Corp.’s former operations in the country.
Serbian President Boris Tadic said during a visit to the mill that an ideal partner would have coke production capacity and galvanizing capabilities, the latter to better position ZS to serve the automotive industry, according to a translation of a report from Serbia’s Tanjug national news agency posted on Tadic’s website.....
