Vedanta posts record lead, silver, alumina production in Q4 2011-12

Indian diversified miner Vedanta Resources has posted record production of lead, silver and alumina for its fourth quarter ended March 31, following the ramp-up of several projects.
During the three months ended March 31, the company saw total refined lead production rise 110% compared with the corresponding period a year earlier to 37,000 tonnes, following the ramp-up of the Dariba lead smelter, which contributed 18,000 tonnes.
Refined lead production for the full year was 99,000 tonnes, up 56% compared with the twelve months ended March 31, 2011.
Silver production totalled 2.84 million oz in the same period, up 77% year-on-year, following....
