USS raises galvanizing line turns to 15 by May

TORONTO — U.S. Steel Corp. expects to run 15 turns on the No. 3 galvanizing line at its steelmaking operations in Hamilton, Ontario, by mid-May, according to a union official.

The line was initially slated to run 10 turns, but the union was informed a week ago that the number of turns would jump to 15 because of increased demand for thin-gauge material used in appliances and in construction products such as siding, Rolf Gerstenberger, president of....
