Tube buyers skeptical coil hikes will stick

TORONTO Pipe and tube buyers are questioning whether recently announced flat-rolled steel price increases will prove successful.
"Everyone is toying with whether the announcements are really going to stop the bleeding," one service center source said. "But lead times are still pretty short at some flat-rolled mills, so its hard to justify."
So far, pipe and tube sources said they had not yet seen any price increases, and instead reported pricing for tubular products as either flat or down.....
