Zambia, Africa’s top copper producer, is considering banning exports of raw copper to force miners to invest in the country’s industrial development.
“It does not make sense to produce copper and then import finished products, like copper rods or cables, and to this end we will soon enact a law compelling mining companies to process all their raw copper within [the country],” Robert Sichinga, Zambia’s industry and....
