BMA to close Norwich Park met coal mine in Queensland

BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) plans to suspend production indefinitely at the Norwich Park mine in Queensland, Australia, from next month, blaming increased costs and lower coking coal prices.
Norwich Park, one of seven mines owned by the alliance in the Bowen Basin, has been losing money for several months and will be closed on May 11, a BHP spokesperson told Metal Bulletin.
