Holidays keep SE Asia’s billet market quiet

Southeast Asia’s billet market has remained subdued this week due to public holidays in Malaysia and the Philippines.
No billet bookings have been reported this week. The latest transactions were in Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines at $645-655 per tonne cfr last week, for materials from Russia, the CIS, and Malaysia.
“The market is very quiet because of the holidays,” a trader in Singapore with operations in the region said.
Catholic-majority Philippines was on Easter holiday on Monday,....
