UK aluminium scrap price follows LME prices down

UK aluminium scrap prices fell again on Wednesday April 11, following lower London Metal Exchange prices and the diminishing attractiveness of markets outside the UK.
The falling prices do not signal a general downtrend, however, as the market remains tight even as the LME’s moves present some short-term relief for secondary aluminium producers.
“Margins at the moment are horrific – I don’t think anyone is doing much better than break-even at the moment,” a producer said.
