European debt, Chinese inflation worry cast long shadow on metals - RMG

Concern over debt in Europe and inflation in China will cast a shadow over market sentiment in 2012, with a particular impact on base and precious metals, analysts at Raw Materials Group (RMG) said in a note on Tuesday April 10.
Nickel prices, for example, performed below expectations in 2011 on a steel industry softened by these concerns in the second, third, and fourth quarters of the year. RMG’s prediction was
9.5% above the average price.
