Codelco, MMX in joint venture for copper and iron ore

Chilean state-owned copper producer Codelco has entered into a joint venture with Brazilian miner MMX, which is controlled by billionaire Eike Batista, to explore for iron ore and copper.
The companies will work together on the Desierto project, located on the coast of the Atacama region in Chile.
