CHICAGO Ford Motor Co. has teamed with Dow Automotive Systems to develop advanced carbon-fiber composites in high-volume vehicles as part of the automakers strategy to boost fuel efficiency by reducing vehicle weight.
Under the agreement, development teams have been charged with establishing an economical source of automotive-grade carbon fiber and developing component-manufacturing methods for high-volume automotive applications.....
